My topic is on gun control.
Is there need for gun control in the United States?
I choose this topic because of the increased number of shootings that have increased in the United States especially involving young kids.
I do not have any experience with the topic but I do believe that there should be gun control measures that should be put in place. I have prior knowledge because of the few articles that outline why or why not gun control measures should be put in place. Yes, I have done prior research so that I could understand where I would stand on this debate. I have several things about gun control on the news including the fact that automatic rifles should not be sold to general population as well as statistics on gun related violence. I currently do not have any personal experience from any gun related violence.
What I intend to find out is their impact gun control measures will have i.e. the reduction of gun related violence. First things I will search for includes statistics on gun related violence. What I would want to know is if States that have stricter gun control measures have had any impact.
I intend to get my sources from Google Scholar on topics related to gun control including the statistics as well as the policies. Use of key words such as gun related violence and gun control debate will be important in narrowing down to articles related to my topic. The articles also will be peer reviewed so that they can be reliable sources.
The first option is the impact gun control has i.e. reduction in gun related violence. The other stand will be against gun control as it impedes the Second Amendment according to the constitution.
My target audience is anyone who is interested in learning anything about gun control including students as well as the stakeholders in this field.
