The University of Kentucky brings together many jazz ensembles, and Duelity was one of the performances of the event. The band was made up of about fifteen members playing different instruments. These instruments include trumpets, flutes, drums, piano, and saxophone. These instruments together produced a fantastic performance that kept the audience enthralled for its duration. The players were very passionate and obviously very skilled. From watching them play, the audience can tell that they have had countless hours of practice to produced harmonized tunes that flow into each other effortlessly. The various instruments also complimented each other. The director of the ensemble ensured that the members hit all the right notes and guided the instrumentalists throughout their performance.

There are a few instances of audience participation. The video was taken from somewhere among the audience, and one can hear their response. They clap and cheer enthusiastically at various intervals during the performance. At the end of solo performances we can also see their appreciations there were cheers from the crowd. At the end, the audience as well as the director clapped and cheered showing that they had enjoyed the show immensely.

There were two amazing solo performances within the whole performance. The first was by a young man playing the flute. His performance was accompanied by drums and the piano. What was most mesmerizing about it was the high notes that he hit with his flute. It was also quite impressive how he moved from the high notes to the lowest while holding his own. He did not falter at any point, and the rest of the band took joined him seamlessly afterward. Towards the end, another gentleman also had a brief solo on a trumpet. The other trumpet players allowed him to take over briefly and just like the flute; he delivered a sterling performance with dramatic notes.

On the whole, I would say that the event was a huge success. The band was awe-inspiring and had intimate knowledge of their instruments. Every single member of the group played their instrument to perfection resulting in a harmonized sound. All the players were well versed with their pieces because there were no mishaps or interruptions at all. Throughout the performance, we can hear the audience give a positive response by either clapping or cheering. The band members were also very confident. Their director kept leading them, but it is also evident that they had practiced their performance ahead of time.

I would recommend the jazz concert to anyone. The music is quite entertaining and lasts only for a short while ensuring that the audience does not get bored. What I loved most about it were the cheerful band and director as well as the audience. Everyone seemed excited to hear the music, and this is obvious from their claps and cheers. A receptive and appreciative audience is very encouraging for the band, and it helps them become more confident and deliver an authentic performance. I saw nothing wrong with the whole performance, and I would definitely enjoy a repeat of the entire thing.

Jazz music is a unique genre that involves several instruments. Each of them requires considerable skill and practice. Individual instrumentalists then have to learn to work together to deliver a harmonized sound as per their desired music. The University of Kentucky concert is one of the best jazz experiences I have heard. I would encourage jazz lovers as well as newbies to attend the show or any other jazz concert to get a taste of the unique and spectacular sounds of different instruments.

Academic monitoring and why it is important

Academic monitoring is necessary in all learning institutions for appropriate service to all students and special attention where necessary. This is due to the difference of learning abilities in students, which is evident in their performances. Therefore, educators especially lower school teachers should come up with strategies which will accommodate all students and make learning effective. Studies have shown that proper implementation of these strategies always yields positive results, thus distinguishes effectual schools from the ineffective (Avery, 2008). There are no specifically strategies required for implementation for learning to be efficient; however, the effective teachers use their professionally acquired skills to come up with flexible measures that relate to the specific group of students. These should be able to be adjusted when handling a different group of students since academic attention varies.

With sufficient knowledge of the group of students that a teacher is dealing with, formulation of strategies would be the next step. These are used to crosscheck and evaluate students’ performances of classroom assignment and check on them during lessons. For instance, a teacher may give random examination to the students to enquire whether they study for examination purposes or for understanding. These results give the actual performance standards and the clear picture of the students’ participation in classroom lessons. This may require a teacher to indulge students in class by posing questions which require them to critically analyze the lessons’ teachings. Allowing students to monitor themselves is also a strategy that the teachers can use; thus, discover those who mostly require attention from the teacher (Blerkom, 2004). This can be used during lesson by moving around the classroom to monitor reaction of the students to the teacher’s presence and how they are going about their assignments.

There are students who perform relatively below the average standards in both their examinations and classroom assignments. The tutor can evaluate this kind of trend and strategize on how to help these students. Here, it is clear that the students face difficulties in their assignments and need assistance. First, it is important to impose an accountability ethic on the students to help them realize they are responsible for their own performance (Zimmerman, 1990). Where students realize they are responsible for their studies, it becomes easier for them to seek academic assistance where they face difficulty, thus can be assisted. This is a method that will involve students in improving their own performance, thus, they regulate their own learning. With difficulty in class assignments, teachers can apply a one on one contact with class during lessons. The close relationship will enhance confidence and willingness to work harder on the areas they are facing difficulties. Giving of tasks to exercise on these specific areas and scores gives them a chance to practice harder (Avery, 2008).

For a teacher to carefully know the abilities of students, study of the performance trend in assignments, examinations, class participation is necessary. It is more likely that better performance is observed where there is a balance in all the three fields. They can therefore involve students by asking questions to review their understanding and willingness to attempt to respond (Avery, 2008). These strategies have been effective over the years according to researchers. This is because; special attention on a student boosts his/her self esteem which will give them the morale to try harder and be less fearful of failure. The encouragement of self regulation as a learning strategy also gives better chances for the evaluation of their own trends thus put more of extra effort on their own while getting assistance where necessary to improve their performance (Zimmerman, 1990). Academic monitoring strategies are clearly effective where team work between students and their tutors is evident.

According to Karl Marl, the lowly paid and low class workers (the proletariat), in the society were deemed to realize their misfortune as it originated from the capitalists and subsequently rise up against all odds to overthrow the inherent oppressors. The conflict between the workers and the company owners is emergent on the dissatisfaction of the workers due to the poor rewards for their work and undesirable working conditions. On contrary, the employers are prompted by greed to amass additional wealth and maintain profits flowing at peak rate. The employees are also exhibited to maximize or exploit the workers to produce peak profits. The comprehension of these terms exposed a state referred to class consciousness. After understanding of his lowly class the workers are hence compelled to undertake reversion of the society and establishment of a socialism structure. The topics are close to the subjective dimension as (the proletariat) is notable to derive from the epi-centre of society. The position of the workers in is considerably notable as victims of the bourgeoisie. Marx reiterates that workers are likely to develop a class conscious feeling and emotion in countering the intention of the rich in the society.

The eminent contradiction between the workers and the capitalist would eventually emanate from the perpetual contradiction regarding to the production relations and subsequent rewards availed to every segment of industry. The significant division of labor is acknowledged as the private ownership of the entire working property by the capitalists disregarding the (the proletariat). The concept of alienation acknowledged in the production process revolves around the facilitating the neglect of the worker from contemporary production of labor. Further, the challenge leads to the worker being expelled from the whole process of production and eventual expulsion from humanity. In most cases, the class consciousness case creates challenging scenario between the workers as typically the consolidated sharing of class is daunting. An exposure of the consequential share class is formation of the trade unions which were established to fend for workers exploitation . According Marx, social wellbeing of men has much more effects on determining their being than consciousness.

Academic Pharmacy in Tobacco Cessation and Control

Tobacco use is a leading cause of death in the United States due to its adverse effects on human health. Health care practitioners have the responsibility and ability to reduce the prevalence of tobacco use significantly. Educating people on the dangers of smoking tobacco is a positive measure towards tobacco cessation. Quitting has positive effects on patients struggling with tobacco use, and clinicians play a significant role in assisting patients quit smoking tobacco.

Cigarette smoking is a leading cause of death in the United States since it causes about 443,585 deaths every year. Tobacco use in America has been so prevalent such that, in the year 2010, the tobacco industry spent $8.5 billion promoting and advertising the product, an amount that surpassed the national budget for tobacco prevention. It is, therefore, a national concern to promote tobacco cessation since a majority of the adult smokers wants to quit smoking and some have even attempted to quit in the past. Pharmacists are the best-placed professionals to facilitate quitting by initiating the necessary efforts or complementing those initiated by other health providers. They can reach out to assist the marginalized groups that have a high prevalence for diseases associated with tobacco because their advice does not need medical insurance or appointment.

A guide provided by the US Public Health Service urges clinicians to incorporate the 5 A’s of tobacco cessation treatment intervention, which are:

Advise tobacco users to quit

Ask about tobacco use

Assess readiness to quit

Assist with quitting

Arrange follow-up care (McBane et al. 5).

In addition, the guide also requires that staff and students in the health profession receive relevant training on effective strategies to facilitate tobacco cessation among the population. All health providers will also be required to have the minimum qualification to offer counseling on tobacco cessation to the users.

The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy acknowledges that promoting health and preventing diseases through educating the public is indispensable. Hence, educating people on tobacco cessation will also be fundamental and should be included in the pharmacy curricula of health professional institutions (McBane et al. 4). This measure will ensure that pharmacy graduates will acquire the necessary knowledge that is evidence-based and requisite skills to assist patients struggling with tobacco use. In addition, professionals teaching subjects related with tobacco cessation should also be competent and enlightened on the content. They should be able to offer relevant counseling on cessation and screen patients for tobacco use as a component of care. The Tobacco Control Committee also urges academic pharmacy to make tobacco cessation and control a priority, and recognize pharmacists as inherent associates of the public health community because they play a significant role in helping patients quit tobacco use and offer them helpful counseling (McBane et al. 2).

Pharmacy organizations have initiated professional based resolutions and policies with the aim of facilitating tobacco cessation and control. However, the professional fraternity has not fully implemented the strategies and integrated them in their practice. All teaching professionals should unite in eliminating tobacco sale in all pharmacies and institutions rendering health care services such as clinics and hospitals (McBane et al. 5). In order to reinforce the policy, the government should discontinue the renewal of existing licenses or issuing of new licenses for pharmacies selling or intending to sell tobacco products. Moreover, only pharmacies and entities not selling tobacco products should be beneficiaries of government-funded prescription programs. This will ensure that sale of tobacco in pharmacies is flushed out completely.

Absolutism

Primary Document 1

According to mercantilism, civilization entails a positive trade balance and a self-sufficient economy coupled with the acquisition of gold ingots. People thought that a countries economic strength is highly dependent on its power and control of surplus goods, such as precious metals (for example silver and gold). They believed that having an abundance of subsistence commodities from own resources, indicated greater civilization and power than relying on external supply.

Primary Document 2

To the monarchial authority in Prussia, civilization entailed the creation of skillful policies well crafted to enhance power, for example taxation, army modernization, and upholding bureaucracy of the noble class. People thought that a good leader should treat their subjects equally regardless of their differences, such as religion. They believed that a leader who is in friendly relations with the monarch nobles stood a good chance of getting support to enact his policies.

Primary Document 3

The Aristocracy of France viewed civilization as bestowing excessive powers on oneself as a ruler by using all means to make people afraid of the monarch and act in a friendly manner always. The people thought that if they did not obey the ruler’s court, they would face death, including those closest to the monarch. This forced them to believe that the aristocracy was the only form of good leadership.

Secondary Document

Absolutism is a reality. In all the monarchs, the rulers attempted, and succeeded, in bestowing absolute power on themselves and their leadership. They chose whom to work with as cabinet members, and dethroned uncooperative nobles of their titles. Furthermore, uncooperative members and rebellious citizens would face execution. Most leaders also opted to increase their administrative powers by taking over church leadership and feudal nobility by exercising absolute control of their activities.

Comparison of the Poems “The Tyger” and “The Lamb” by William Blake

The two poems that I chose to do a comparison was on “The Tyger” and “The Lamb” both written by William Blake. These two poems share quite similar themes hut are also different in the aspects of life that they address “The Tyger” concentrates on the dangers that one faces in nature as well as in life while “The Lamb” on the other hand portrays a celebration of nature as one can see it from the eyes of a child who is innocent. Using these two poems, Blake is able to explore the theme of nature, creatures as well as their creator in a different, almost contradictory ideas.

The nature in itself is a beautiful but yet a terrifying place. Blake realizes that while God may have made a gentle lamb he is also still the creator of a tiger which is a dreadful and a fearful animal. In the poem “The Tyger” he includes Satan as another creator and includes rhetorical question in passing this message. Blake states that “‘In what distant deeps or skies/ Burnt the fire of thy eyes?” (Blake, line 5/6). This statement is makes reference to both heaven and hell as he tries to establish if the tiger is a creature created by God or by Satan. In the second stanza of the poem “The Lamb”, William Blake unlike in “Tyger” establishes that the lam is an innocent creature just like a child as he states “I a child & thou a lamb” (Blake, line 17). This line may be interpreted as William Blake may have been restored to a state of innocence by Jesus. He does not question the lam as a creature that was created by someone else because of how good it is.

“The Lamb” just like children nursery rhyme has a very easy and simple structure. This poem creates a sweet a peaceful imagery that makes one see how good the lam is. We can visualize a little lamb in the field asking its mother question “Does thou know who made thee?” (Blake, line 2). He utilizes imagery in describing the lamb as woolly bright. Use of a lamb which is white gets a reader to think of heavenly colors thus one can contrast the point he is putting across that a lamb is a heavenly creation.

“The Tyger” is also a poem full of imagery. The stanzas which reads “Tiger! Tiger burning bright/ In the forest of the night” (Blake, line 1-2) creates a vision of evil that tends to happen in forest that is dark. Although it may be dark in the forest, the tigers glowing orange coat as well as black stripes can be seen in the dark. Use of tiger in itself is imagery as tiger is a predator animal and in the years that Blake wrote the poem, the tiger was seen as an evil animal. He uses contrast by using the tiger’s colors and the forest by stating that the tiger is burning bright.

Both of these poem take the shape of conversation but “The Lamb” contrasts in that Blake gives answers. While “The Lamb” is structured like a nursery rhyme, “The Tyger” has six stanzas and it does not have the answer to the question but the question is repeated throughout the poem and the question is left unanswered. This creates an imaginative effect to the reader as the reader tries to establish what kind of creation a tiger could be. Both poems also use repetition to put on emphasis. The line that seeks to know who created the lamb is repeated twice. There is also repetition in the first line in the first stanza as it also appears in the 6th stanza creating musical quality in the poem.

In conclusion, both of these poem explore different ideas of experience as well as innocence. While “The Lamb” shows the good in creation, “The Tyger” portrays the bad. He is also able to use literary devices including use of rhetorical question, imagery and repetition to bring out the themes.

The Types of Frustrations That Elisa Experiences Partly Being a Woman in a Man’s World

Elisa Allen is a passionate, intelligent, and interesting lady who lives an under stimulated, and unsatisfied life. She is ignored or thwarted at each turn: having a professional occupation is not an option for Elisa. She does not have children of her own, her interest in the commercial part of the ranch is disregarded, and her offers of assistance to her husband at the ranch are accorded well-meant disdain. Elisa’s desire to see the world is dismissed as an unfit aspiration for a woman. Consequently, she dedicates all her vigor to taking care of the garden and house-keeping. Although she appropriately brags concerning her green finger, her connection with nature seems strained and does not appear to come as naturally as Elisa claims. Elisa has extensive knowledge concerning plants, most likely since, as a female, gardening remains the only thing that she thinks about.

She is so frustrated with living that she enthusiastically looks up to the tinker for inspiring conversation and also sex, two essentials that appear to be lacking in Elisa’s life. When the hope of mental and physical fulfillment vanishes with the tinker, her devastation implies how discontented Elisa is with her matrimony. She is too desperate to rise above the ensnare of being a woman, that Elisa seeks any flight, trying to tease her husband, requesting for wine with dinner, and also expressing concern in the bloody conflicts that only men typically attend. All of these do not truly gratify her, although, and it is cynical that she would ever get fulfillment.

Gender Inequality. The Chrysanthemums is a simple but pointed analysis of a society that disregards intelligent females. Elisa is ambitious, energetic, smart, and attractive, but all these characteristics go to waste. While the two main men in the narrative are less talented and interesting than Elisa, their lives are depicted as far more busy and fulfilling than Elisa’s. Henry is not as smart as Elisa, but he manages the ranch, supports his wife and himself, and makes the business deals. Elisa is frustrated since all she is expected to do is observe him from a distance as he performs his work. She feels frustrated as a woman in a man’s world since whatsoever information she obtains concerning the running of the ranch comes obliquely from Henry, who talks only in indistinct, condescending language instead of granting his wife the status of an equal spouse. According to Elisa, the tinker is more intelligent than her husband but does not have Elisa’s passion, spirit, or craving for exploration. According to Elisa, the tinker cannot match her skills as a tinker, but since he is the man, it is he who is allowed to ride all over the country, and having an adventurous life that is believed to be unfit for the female gender. The author uses the tinker and Henry as symbols of the paternalism existent in patriarchal societies in that just as the two men disregard women’s potential, so does society.

CONCLUSION

Elisa feelings of frustration with her life as a woman ensnared in a patriarchal society are also symbolized in the lack romance and children in her matrimony with Henry. In addition, her husband does not appreciate her feminine qualities as well as her sentimental needs. The experience with the tinker rekindles her sexuality and triggers hope to Elisa for an increasingly romantic and exciting marriage. On the contrary, her awareness that her life is not bound to transform is crystallized on seeing the flowers sprawled on the way. This devastates her totally to have to settle for a frustrating life.

Abu Dhabi Financial Market (ADFM) is the primary stock trade in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and was shaped on November 15, 2000 to help in exchanging shares of the UAE organizations. Industry professionals perceive that the notoriety of the subsidiaries business has been discolored as a consequence of the money related emergency, when dreary regulation and danger services rehearses from monetary firms – particularly for credit subordinates – prompted trillion-dollar citizen subsidized bailouts and capital infusions from national banks.

The UAE’s move up to “developing markets” status by the record supplier MSCI alongside Qatar this month has left trade authorities plotting the following course of development. The ADFM is likewise as of now considering whether it can give more subsidiary items including fates contracts, nearby depositary receipts and trade exchanged stores, with an end goal to add to the advancement of neighborhood markets, Mr Al Baloushi said (Zarour, 2006).

This incorporates arranging, controlling, and keeping up the quality confirmation with a point of enhancing the item’s quality. Much of the time, attaining to this would include keeping in see any problems certain rule that help give the center towards the obliged quality. To start with, the Abu Dhabi Financial Market operations must be coordinated towards fulfillment of the client, as they are a definitive buyer who decides the interest of the item (Zarour, 2006).

All the above standards are gone for guaranteeing that nature of the items is all around kept up and enhanced with time as arranged by the services of the procedure (Zarour, 2006).

The US Constitution system of central laws defines congress distinct powers of the president, and the federal courts. The separation of authority is acknowledged as the system of checks and balances, as it ensures that there are no government branches dominating the others. The Framers put limits on the government through checks and balances. The Constitution inaugurates and confines the federal government authority over the states and it spells out the liberties and freedoms for U.S. citizens. Among the goals that the framers had, was protecting people’s liberty by limiting the government through the bill of rights with denials and grants. These powers suggests that “authority that is not approved by the constitution to the government was in theory denied to it” This denials of power was used in the constitution to limit the government (Patterson, 2013).

The framers never wanted to treat their people like the French and European did. Framers used denials of power to forbid many things that other countries did, which they didn’t want to do. The U.S. Constitution framers pursued a fundamental change from the earlier notions in two significant ways. To begin with, they put the Constitution above all legislative and governmental powers. The framers overruled an elementary assumption held by many independent theorists, such as Montesquieu, that real democracy was potential only in small territories with less homogeneous populations. The framers learn through the articles of Confederation and mistakes from other countries. The framers designed the constitution in a way that it would be amended to fit the changing times in future. Certainly preventing dictatorship and controlling factions was a massive part of it (Patterson, 2013).

All of the framer of the U.S. Constitution felt that the government didn’t have enough power though they did not want to over empower it. They needed a government that everyone agreed upon and the one that would meet the nation’s needs.
