POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE EFFECT OF NIKOLE ON THE PUBLICATION OF THE 1619
The 1619 project is an ongoing initiative NEW YORK time magazine award winning reframing of American history and placed slavery and its continuing legacy
The project was first published in AUGUST 2019 after the arrival of the first enslaved African in the English colony. This project is a long form journalism project developed by NIKOLE HANNAH, which aims to reframe the country’s history by placing the consequences of slavery and contributionof BLACK AMERICANS,.
The project has sparked critics and debate among prominent historians and politicians. Several authors have come up with their own publishing expressing strong reservation about the project and requested factual corrections accusing the project of putting ideology before human understanding
although the projects places this moment in the context of slavery in the colonial history of the united states, some have taken issues with to this ,questioning whether those 1619 arrivals were enslaved ,calling attention to intermingling with English and native people and the creating of a community of people of African descent. Others have pointed outhit the first enslave African arrived in north America in 1562and that European salary is documented as far back as COLUMBS
