The roles of a professional nurse highly influence the image of nursing especially in the current times where the society understands the expected impact of nursing. This is because, the role of nursing has evolved to not only take care of the patient needs but also influence the development of the whole healthcare system and the society as well. For instance, nurses are responsible for ensuring that they provide care to all people in need regardless of their race or nationality, religion or sexual orientation (Abbasinia, Ahmadi & Kazemnejad, 2020). By doing so, the nursing image is positively impacted, and the nursing profession is strengthened in proving that it is capable of fulfilling the role to provide care to all people regardless of their background (Abbasinia, Ahmadi & Kazemnejad, 2020). Another professional nursing role that influences the current image of nursing is advocacy for patients. By doing so, the profession works to ensure that every person that enters the healthcare system should receive quality care (Gerber, 2018). Such efforts have been highly influential to the nursing image because they have proved that the profession is always supportive of such causes.
