My long-term career goals

My long-term career goals

When I retire from my professional career, I would like to be remembered as somebody who made a positive contribution in the lives of people I interacted with and in organizations I worked for. I understand that this calls for hard work and sacrifice, and I am ready to put in the required effort. I plan to approach all my duties positively and with the aspiration to “make a difference”.

I have registered for a Master’s degree majoring in strategic management under business management. Upon completion, my immediate objective will be to find employment in an organization, I can gain practical experience. I want to be exposed to a wide range of business areas. During this stage of my career, I intend to create a strong foundation of knowledge and expertise. Though, I want to get specialized knowledge in management, I still want to remain flexible. Attaining my short-term goals will allow me to prepare for my long-term career goals.

My medium-term goal is to get a secure but a challenging job in a blue chip company. At this moment, I expect to understand more about the specifics of my career path I intend to pursue. Hopefully, the achievement of my short-term goal will equip me with remarkable combination of knowledge, competency and experience to forge ahead.

My long-term goal is to reach the peak of the corporate ladder. Certainly, it would be good to achieve this by climbing the ladder straight up. However, I know that I will need to climb ladder by ladder to reach at the top. Preferably, I would wish to retire from my careers as a Chief Executive Officer of a top tier company. I would be satisfied from knowing that I positively impacted those whom I worked with.

If indeed, I accomplish all my goals, I would be financial stable in my retirement and live a comfortable life. I will use my free time doing charity work.

My Nursing Career Research

Introduction

My name is xxxxxx xxxxxx and I plan on pursuing nursing as my career of choice. I have always wanted to help people and gain knowledge in the process. One of the most esteemed occupations is nursing. The nursing career is always changing, and there are so many different things you can do in it that you don’t have to adhere to one specialty. You can create a new area of interest if one does not already exist. One of the most fulfilling experiences is realizing that my attention, touch, voice, and time can assist a patient. Sometimes, the small gestures you do on behalf of your patient might have a big impact. An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is the minimal need for registered nurses (RNs), but a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) may help you land a position with more power and higher compensation. Apart from acquiring a degree in nursing, the United States requires a nurse to be licensed and have experience as a registered nurse for a minimum of two years.

My Personality Assessment in Relation to Nursing Career

According to the Human Metrics Personality Assessment, I am an INFP which is also referred to as a mediator. The characteristics of people with this personality include intuitive, introverted, feeling and prospecting. This is a rare personality type as there is only 4% of them in the world. Their main skill is being open minded and thinking outside the box. They are also pure hearted and conduct all their endeavors without expecting anything in return. This clearly explains my obsession with helping people especially the sick. My personality also shows that I am an idealist who is always in search of solutions to problems. This character trait will help me with quick decision making and problem solving skills. As much as I am shy, I am very committed to my work and I am willing to work hard so that I can achieve my goal. According to Vark Assessment I learn more through multimodal learning style. This is the learning style that involves visual, auditory, reading and kinesthetic in order to understand and remember more. My type of learning style gives me an added advantage since other styles have either of the learning style but not all of them combined. It will make me a quick learner during my nursing courses, on job training and when doing voluntary work.

I also did the Multiple Intelligence Survey where I found out I have intrapersonal intelligence. Being intrapersonally intelligent has many benefits to my nursing career because I have the capacity to be self-aware and in tune with inner feelings, values, beliefs and thinking processes. It enables me to utilize clinical data by prioritizing nursing problems and formulate differential diagnoses. Secondly, I can easily formulate standard diagnostic and therapeutic procedures demonstrating awareness of risks, benefits, costs, patient preferences, and ethical and psychosocial issues. Thirdly, I will be able to demonstrate my ability to perform self-reflection in all nursing actions. I also have a high level of commitment to ethical-moral-legal principles. Intrapersonal intelligence also enables me to enhance my decision making and problem solving skills.

My Opinion and Aspirations on the United States Medical Sector

The US medical sector still has a number of current problems that need to be resolved, despite the fact that the country has taken initiatives to boost the healthcare experience. Medical mistakes are one of these problems. In the US healthcare industry, medical errors are one of the most often occurring preventable causes of adverse consequences. It’s important to address medical mistakes in order to decrease the mortality rate. Every year, medical blunders claim the lives of almost 200,000 individuals in US health facilities. The cost of preventing medical errors will go down, and quality medical care will increase. In my opinion, nurses in the US medical sector are in the forefront of eliminating clinical mistakes. By following protocol, the nursing community’s participants can contribute to the resolution of this problem. Reading medicine labels, pursuing continuous learning and working to avoid pharmaceutical errors are all examples of appropriate conduct. Keeping high-risk medications apart is another way that nurses can reduce medical errors. Since these medications have a very high risk of harming patients or even mortality when used incorrectly, nurses must store them separately. I also intend to join the group that is tackling the challenges that arise due to clinical mistakes.

Nursing Career in the United States V. in Houston

Nursing career information defers both nationally and locally. In the United States, registered nurses (RNs) main responsibilities include planning patient care, delivering it to patients, and informing the public about a range of medical issues. A bachelor’s degree in nursing, an associate’s degree in nursing, or a diploma from an accredited nursing program are the typical educational paths taken by registered nurses. For a person to be a registered nurse, he or she must have acquired a nursing license. In May 2021, the median yearly salary for registered nurses was $77,600 according to Occupational Outlook. Between 2020 and 2030, it is anticipated that demand for registered nurses will increase by 9%, which is approximately average for all occupations.  During the next ten years, there are expected to be, on average, 194,500 opportunities for registered nurses. Many of those positions are anticipated to be brought about by the need to replace workers who change careers or retire.

In Houston the number of nurses employed in 2018 was 26,120. In 2028, the number is estimated to rise up to 252,330 which is 17% increase according to Career Onestop. Every year, there are over 16,130 projected job openings. Most people starting this career usually have a bachelor’s degree in nursing but no working experience or on the job training. However, the nurses take up certain programs such as Adult Health Nursing or Nurse Leadership to prepare themselves in advance. Getting certification for different nursing skills may help a registered nurse get a promotion or a job. The yearly salary for most nurses in Houston is $99,600.

As I aspire to join the nursing profession, I intend to first get a nursing degree. I will also join various nursing programs so as to acquire certification on different nursing skills. As I per take my nursing course, I will set time aside to do voluntary work in order to acquire some on job training. After securing a job as a registered nurse, I will consider taking a masters degree in nursing. I will use general federal financial aid to help finance my nursing degree. During my masters, I will apply for scholarship or apply for a loan and use my job salary as security. Some of the skills I hope to acquire to reach my career goal include critical thinking, active listening, social perceptiveness, service orientation and coordination. I also intend to be excellent in deductive reasoning, problem sensitivity and inductive reasoning.

My Financial Future as a Nursing Professional

As much as I am passionate about my nursing career, I also have lifestyle goals which I need to meet. I aspire to live a comfortable life depending on my salary. I would want to own a house and a car. The house will be not more than 10 km from my work place so it will be easy to access work from home. I will acquire the house through mortgage or save up so I can buy it. Before I buy the house I might consider living in an apartment which will fully depend on the size of my salary. I have no intentions of being materialistic but instead buy things that I actually need. I might invest in quality products which are mostly expensive for example in the case of phones, tablets or laptops. I also plan on traveling for vacations once a year to different states or countries. I am also willing to use the finances available to grow my education by taking up postgraduate programs. Depending on if I have a family or not I may decide to upgrade the house and the car. All in all, I will mainly focus in investing in experiences and education.

Since the nursing profession is highly in demand, it is likely that there will be an annual salary increment in the years to come according to Texas Reality Check. The national salary may get to over $90,000 annually while in Houston, $105,000 annually. It will therefore help in financing my lifestyle once I am a registered nurse. However, I will need some financial help when acquiring a house and postgraduate education. I intend to take up loans and use my salary as security for the house. As for my postgraduate education, I will apply for scholarships and do them part time. I will save up for my yearly vacations by setting aside some cash from each salary. In the event I have more finances to spare, I will consider investments such as real estate or open a business in an industry that I have full knowledge on. These investments will come in handy after I retire.

Cost of Living in Houston Compared to Other Cities

The cost of living in cities is a factor that I will seriously consider when deciding where to settle as I continue with my nursing career. I considered Brooklyn, New York and Alexandria, Louisiana compared to my salary in Houston, Texas. I estimated my salary to be $105,000 within the next few years when I become a registered nurse. My comparable salary in Brooklyn will be $96,713. I will need 46% more in groceries, 282% more in housing, 16% more in utilities, 18% more in transportation and 15% more in healthcare. In Alexandria, my salary will be compared to $ 48,976. I will need 3% more in groceries, 9% less in housing, 9% more in utilities, 3% less in transportation and 5% more in healthcare according to the CNN Money Calculator. It is very evident that the cost of living in Brooklyn is very much higher than in Houston while that of Alexandria is moderately affordable. I actually do not mind not having my family in a different city. I can visit them from often and have video calls to keep in touch. I however do not intend to leave my nuclear family behind in case I move. Housing is a very important factor that I will consider because I intend to own a home. The housing in Brooklyn is very expensive. Unless I get a salary increase or a promotion I would not consider Brooklyn. I would therefore consider settling in Alexandria rather than Brooklyn in the event I leave Houston which is very unlikely.

Volunteering in My Nursing Career

Voluntary work is very important to the nursing profession. Not only does it help a nurse gain more efficiency at work it also helps the community around the nurse. The nurse professional helps the people in his or her community based on the skills acquired while studying or working. Other benefits of volunteering in a community include connecting people, building empathy and trust, empowering the community, fostering efficacy, supporting health care and impacting social change according to Volunteer Houston. As I continue to progress in my career, I intend to join the MD Anderson Cancer Center and the St Joseph Medical Center. At MD Anderson, volunteering is a fulfilling experience that is genuinely at the center of the organization. I will collaborate with cancer patients, their care givers, faculty, and staff in order to improve the lives of the patients. They also have a College Volunteer Program, which is intended to give students a fulfilling voluntary work in hospital environments, which is an added benefit. At St Joseph, I will get to work with patients and people from different age groups. They are very adequate in making volunteers feel like part of the medical center.

Volunteering does not only benefit the community as a way of giving back but it will also help me grow professionally. Volunteering enables nurses to take on a variety of positions or expertise without committing for the long term. For instance, if I work part-time in a hospital, I might volunteer at a nearby school to experience what it’s like to be a school nurse. This would help me decide on a potential career path. A nurse’s network can be expanded via volunteering. A superior or workmate who volunteers their time could prove to be a helpful reference or perhaps pave way to greener pastures. By using my knowledge and abilities in novel ways and by keeping me sharp and current, volunteering will increase my chances of receiving a promotion or a job offer. Volunteering also helps nurses gain leadership skills by lending their special viewpoint and expertise to nonprofit boards, emergency management teams, communication teams, and more to assist bring about good change and enhance general public health. The volunteering experience will also help me grow skills such as decision making, patience and problem solving as I work with different people. I have previous experience in volunteer work where I learned how to keep an eye on and spot changes in patient signs and symptoms as well as how to act quickly in an emergency. Additionally, I gained knowledge on how to distinguish between abnormal and typical physical states and took part in activities related to pain management for patients. Additionally, I developed my analytical skills and my ability to spot pathophysiological issues and changes in status.

My Long-term SMART Goal

For any profession, not only nursing, having long-term and short term goals is very important. The short-term goals work as landmarks or milestones towards the destination which in this case is the long-term goal. For a goal to be beneficial it should be SMART. SMART is the abbreviation for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-bound. In my nursing profession my long-term SMART goal is to achieve a doctorate in nursing. I have various short-term goals which will help me evaluate my progress as I aim for the long-term goal. The short-term goals include gaining expertise in my unit or healthcare institution, becoming a mentor in my unit, joining a committee to network and broaden my knowledge, becoming certified in my specialized area, and enrolling in a continuing education course that intrigues me.

Considering my long-term goal is SMART, it does not reduce the chances of facing challenges before attaining it. One of the most likely obstacles will be finances to cater for my nursing degree and post graduate academics. I will use general federal financial aid to help finance my nursing degree. During my post graduate courses, I will apply for scholarship or apply for a loan and use my job salary as security. The other challenge will be time management since I will have to schedule time for family, academics, work and volunteering for a long period of time. I will also have to ensure that my wellbeing is in place by eating a balanced diet and maintaining a personal physical exercise routine. From time to time, I will enroll in therapy to avoid getting overwhelmed.

Conclusion

Ten years from now, I will probably be at the highlight of my nursing career. I will have finished my degree in nursing and gained working experience for about three years. I will be a registered nurse and maybe volunteering or doing my masters degree during part time. I however will not yet have reached my long-term goal of attaining a doctorate degree within the next fifteen years. When I achieve my doctorate in nursing, I will feel contented with my hard work. My time, knowledge and sacrifices will have yielded great results. It will also encourage my juniors and all those who will be looking up to me by then. I will consider becoming a lecturer part time as I continue with my career. I will be living my dream!

My Memory

My memory of the visit to Hollywood is semantic. The picture that involves the experience I quite remember very well is my visit to Hollywood with my sister. I remember how we planned our trip for almost six months, trying to ensure that we put in place every bit of it to ensure everything went as planned. We planned a trip to Hollywood, where we had one of the best experiences by visiting different parts of Hollywood. I recall that both of us were looking forward to visiting the Walk of Fame and seeing the ‘Hollywood Sign. I can recall that we were all aware that any visit to Hollywood required one to make specific visits and take certain pictures for their memory. It is no secret that many people believe one cannot experience a Hollywood visit without making the Walk of Fame, and we made it a priority during the visit. I remember that once we were there, we took several pictures of celebrity names embedded in the ‘Walk of Fame.’ I can relive the experience of seeing the Walk of Fame and how I felt close to the numerous celebrities. We took significant time on the Walk of Fame trying to sport the names of some of our celebrity idols, and it was the apex of our visit. I remember we visited a movie theatre and were amazed at how big it was. The movie studio visit allowed us to see a movie set, which was my first experience.

My recollection of the visit is significantly influenced by the media reports of Hollywood and the general perception that people have about it. However, I knew Hollywood was the bedrock of movie production and celebrity living in the world, and visiting ensured that I created a physical connection with the place. The fact that we came across some stars during our visit helped enhance my memory of what transpired during the tour.

My Sister’s Memory

My sister remembers the moment we decided that we were going to visit Hollywood. He recalls that at first, my mum was skeptical about the trip and was against such plans. She had refused to help us finance the journey and even forbade us from borrowing her car for the trip. After several days of persuading her, she finally allowed us to visit, a condition that my elder sister would take responsibility for the entire trip and ensure I was safe. She also recalls that during our journey to Hollywood, our vehicle broke down, and we had to call mum so that she could help us pay for the repairs. During our time in Hollywood, my sister remembers that we had our camera, and we took many pictures to help us preserve our experiences and be proof of our tour. Her narration also includes the unfortunate event when we lost one of our cameras after forgetting it in one of the restaurants we visited for lunch and getting a call from the owners to pick it up. She recounts how many people were present at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with many trying to capture the moment on their cameras.

Analyzing the Discrepancies

My sister remembers the incident before the trip, whereas I recall it, which is the biggest distinction between our memories. My sister seemed detailed in her memory as she could remember small details of our tour; my account of it was very shallow and less detailed. For instance, while I only seem to recall that we were permitted to visit Hollywood, she remembers convincing our mother to let us go. She recalls that our automobile broke down on the highway as we drove to our destination; however, I recognized that we had arrived in Hollywood. The difference between our accounts of the tour stems from a variety of factors, including the fact that I might have been less conscious of making the entire trip. My memory of the incident was distorted because I concentrated more on the trip than on the activities I had taken before it. I was looking forward to the memories I would make during my visit to Hollywood, and in the process, my mind did not capture what was happening around me before and as we drove (Bornstein & Pickard, 2020). The planning and preparation for the trip had less appeal for me than the experiences and sights of Hollywood did. I lost several details because they weren’t as a priority to me as my sister (Bornstein & Pickard, 909). For me, the trip’s focus was on Hollywood itself, and anything happening as we traveled was secondary hence did not warrant my attention. The fact that I am also not an enthusiast for long trips would have played a role in me forgetting some of the happenings of the day. Our route to Hollywood was an eight-hour drive, and we took turns driving that day. When I was not driving, I was either watching a movie on my laptop or listening to music, hence why I would not remember most things about the trip.

My Nursing Ethic

My Nursing Ethic

.PASSION: Why am I here?

I had a dream of improving human nature. I saw children and poor people suffer in hospital’s beds as a result of diseases and death. I began to develop a positive passion towards these vulnerable persons. Hence, I decided to make this dream come true by advancing my knowledge in nursing profession. I also realized that for passion to exist to all persons, I’m supposed to view people the same way God does. And to have passion, means to be devoted to excellence. Generally, in nursing field, we need a passion, a passion for people, and a passion for God. My inspiration originates from the love and kindness expressed by other nurses (PCBE, n.d).

MOTIVATION: What moves me to act?

I have a desire to help people and contribute towards the welfare of the society through healing and comforting those suffering due to ailments. Familiarity with ethics in nursing profession also assisted me to understand the demands available in nursing sector, such as the Hippocratic Oath. Other demands which include keeping patients’ secrets, safeguarding their lives among others. Finally, nursing is a dynamic and a challenging occupation, and this moves me to pursue the profession. It motivates me since it keeps on strengthening my faith. In all, the above are key motivating factors to me (PCBE, n.d)

INSPIRATION: What keeps me in motion?

I saw many patients suffer when I was still young. I witnessed nurses running up and down trying to assist them. They were so great and caring, and at a time I even shaded tears on seeing how nurses cared about the patients. I was touched with what was happening. Henceforth, I develop a feeling of wanting to help someone’s life like the way those nurses did (PCBE, n.d).

LOYALTY: Whom do I serve?

Given the fact that my employer has given me duties to perform for that am loyal to, my practice and actions are under the surveillance of God. I must also respect the life of patients the information about their sickness, to offer my service for the benefits of the sick, and in summary, I will not go against my oath and covenant. It is this fact that keeps my integrity to serve and care for my patients to the best of my ability (PCBE, n.d)

In conclusion, respect and integrity are my key values in maintaining my ethical standards with nursing profession.

Circulation of Beliefs about Beauty in Contemporary North American Society

The phrase that beauty is in the eye of the beholder no longer holds. Today, in North America more than elsewhere in the world, society dictates beauty. The North American notion of beauty is governed by cultural and social influences and ideals of aesthetics established by fashion requirements of the present age (Zaborkis 1). Women, and occasionally men, frequently go to great extents and a immense suffering to reach that unattainable standard of beauty. It does not help that the North American culture and attitude of perfection has soaked into the definition of beauty (Argo and Dahl 976). The standardization of beauty across the North American culture to match a singular path of perfect height, hair, light eyes, youthfulness, glowing skin, high heels, certain clothing, and any other subcultural dictates have circulated to create impossible demands on women of all ages leading to social issues, isolation, and non-conformity problems.

People have strived to look their finest since the dawn of humanity. Nonetheless, society has a significant role in determining what is attractive. In North America, for example, maintaining a youthful appearance has traditionally been seen as a significant aspect of attractiveness, particularly among women of all ages who want naturally flawless skin and other standards that require enhancements as one ages. The majority of people in North America value fairness, especially persons of color who live in areas where it is valued (Brown 74). Women with a larger body, long, bouncy hair, and a healthy shine to their complexion are viewed as more beautiful in particular age groups. For example, the number of women who get cosmetic procedures to enhance their appearance and fulfill beauty standards such as having fuller lips, smaller bodies, and larger breasts has steadily increased over the previous several decades (Alotaibi 9). A thinner figure is viewed as a key aspect of being beautiful in most locations across the globe. Women’s aspirations in North America, on the other hand, have reached unprecedented heights, as have the demands placed on them to match those expectations. People have started to associate physical appearance with positive outcomes such as happiness and financial success as the globe has grown more linked. As a consequence, North American women began to want the cultural conceptions of what was attractive. Being tall, fair, and slim, as well as possessing light eyes and hair, were formerly considered the most attractive attributes.

The phrase “beautiful” is highly prized by both men and women. In today’s culture, what is considered beautiful and how people need to conduct themselves are both determined by materialism and commercialism. Both men and women fall victim to this trap, and once within, they are conditioned to want to conform to an idealized depiction of what constitutes a beautiful man or woman (Reid‐de Jong and Bruce 55). According to the findings of psychological research, all of these things occur as a direct consequence of the prejudices and constructions that are the product of the social norms that are prevalent in modern society (Elliott 1). When a person’s identity and their physical appearance are intertwined, the influence of cultural imperialism has a huge effect on how they evaluate beauty. This is especially true in Canada, where commercialism and consumerism both play a significant role in the economy (Veresiu and Parmentier 265). Women are attracted to what is considered beautiful by society, such as having a small waist, long legs, narrow hips, long, lustrous hair, a light complexion, and thin bodies. Societal standards of beauty are always shifting. Men are judged according to their muscularity, tone, and shape, as well as other masculine traits that define attractiveness in today’s society, such as whether or not they have hair on their chests. As a direct consequence of this, it is plain to see that the size of both men and women shown in the media has decreased throughout the course of time. Indeed, this is a perfect instance of the new beauty mania that has recently evolved in our society.

In contemporary North American culture, individuals’ high standards of beauty have given rise to problems in a variety of facets of life, including their physical and mental health. Yan and Bissell (197) highlight the development of “lifestyle conformity anxieties,” which include concerns about one’s health, disappointments, impossible goals, and a society that is always seeking to be flawless. Ideas regarding what constitutes beauty have played a role in contributing to this rise. Eating disorders are often brought on by one’s own preconceived ideas about how one’s body ought to look, for instance (Reid‐de Jong and Bruce 55). Researchers eventually determined that the desire to be thin, which arises from unhappiness with one’s looks, is what causes anorexia and bulimia. This was a significant discovery. Anorexia and bulimia are both caused by others who are against the thin-ideal view of beauty as well as others who find beauty in curves. Others who see beauty in curves. The idealized sense of beauty that exists in today’s culture is being criticized by these people. On the other hand, the criticism has gone too far, as shown by the fact that eating disorders and obesity have been brought up. According to studies, being overweight may cause a person to experience psychological discomfort, which in turn can have an effect on a person’s body image, which in turn can lower a person’s quality of life (Afful and Ricciardelli 454). When seen from a psychological point of view, obesity is considered to be one of the most embarrassing features of society. It would seem that people in North American culture have a natural bias towards those who are overweight. Having an interest in the aesthetic standards and conceptions that are widespread in North American culture has important ramifications for one’s health as well as the general enjoyment that may be derived from living one’s life.

The problem is more prevalent for women than it is for any other social or demographic segment in North America because of the expectations placed on them by culture, fellow women, the workplace, communities, social media, and other areas of life. This is different for other regions like China where macho men are the societal symbol of what a man should be (Elliott 1). Body image is a challenging subject since it is made up of a personal belief, emotions, feelings, moods, and actions (Brown 67). Women’s mental health may be influenced by how they see themselves and feel about their physique. Women who are self-conscious about their looks are more prone to have eating disorders, physical problems, mental health problems, and other conditions that make it difficult for them to work and earn a living. Reading women’s publications, being on social media, and following influencers and social leaders cause more than 70% of college-aged women feel horrible about their own beauty, according to poll data (Esmonde 77). Finally, it seems that this problem will intensify, affecting not just women but also men, the elderly, LGBTQ+ people, people of color, and a wide range of other groups.

In conclusion, the standardization of beauty across North American culture to match a single predefined path of perfection dictated by society has circulated, creating impossible demands on women of all ages, leading to social problems, isolation, and non-conformity issues. unfortunately, there seems to be no positive aspects related to the definition of beauty on a cultural and societal level. However, the consequences continue to pile up, especially for women who are constantly expected to fit into a predetermined “box” of what beauty entails. As the problem begins to extend to men and other social categories, it is important for individuals to begin stepping away from these expectations.

CISG Article Cover in Pratt and Whitney Case

The Convention aims to donate to the removal of legal barriers in global business and support the growth of international trade. The CISG denotes a multifaceted international agreement. Its main purpose is to support and promote intercontinental trade and lessen transnational trade disagreements by making the same law that oversees contracts for the international sale of goods (Felemegas, 3). It is the reason why the CICG covered Pratt and Whitney case. The complainant Pratt &Whitney saleable engine trade has had negotiated the perpetrator known as Malev Hungarian airlines to acquire jet engines. On 14th December 1990, the accuser sent two acquisition proposals to the perpetrator, one for Boeing aircraft and another one for the other engines. An overall of 4000 locomotives with four likely series with a time limit of 21th of September 1990. The perpetrator accepted the proposal. On 25th March 1990, the perpetrator told the complainant that they won’t buy the locomotives after communications and discussions. The plaintiff took legal action on the defendant, affirming that the defendant accepted the buying offer. CISG covered Pratt and Whitney case because it governs contracts for the sale of goods that are between buyers and sellers whose pertinent places of business are in different nations that have acquired the CISG as part of their law, referred to as “Contracting States.”

The results could have been different if Hungary had not signed CISG. The ruling and the case would have been handled in a different manner. CISG only functions in states that have signed its agreement. Suppose you hire a Mexican general contractor to build a factory in Mexican, and both U.S. and Mexico have signed the CISG article. In that case, CISG does not cover the contract since it covers only individuals that are in different countries that have signed the agreement. In this instance, both the contractor and the owner are in Mexico, and the factory is being built in Mexico.

My Mom

Having been to this college for quite some time now gives me a chance to report and to know about different things that happen. However, some of those events have already caught me and most of the time it gets difficult for every person to develop what they need to do so that their life gets on the right course. Being at school makes us similar in some instances and different in other instances. For example, a person may say another is racist, ugly, and so much more characterization if we do not undoubtedly know a person. However, I have been faced with this problem. Even though it is a very important part of my life to keep my family life private in this paper I discuss and bring out one of the stories of my life which makes me think very much and become very emotional (Barrington, et al).

I rarely care about people’s notions and what they think about me. However, a year ago I noticed that several individuals were discussing me and how I had all over a sudden become dull and stopped talking to people. Many activities had happened in my life and I know that some things cannot be controlled, however, strength lies in hope. I have had the opportunity to live in one of the most peaceful and lovely families. However, this was not until my mum was very sick. For the whole of last year, I spent most of my time saving my mind and everything else that I could so that all my energy was focused on my mum. Therefore it was a difficult moment for me trying to push myself to stand in for people while at the same time trying to be good at home and support my mum who was very sick.

My mum is asthmatic and therefore she has her low periods and better periods. However last year especially with the presence of the coronavirus pandemic it was very difficult for her to get medicine. Therefore I tried my level best to make sure that she was good. Her fear to expose herself to corona made my family the losers as there was a lot of emotional pain and everything that was not okay. My father is a tough man but he is always good to his family and therefore I could do anything for him as long as I live. Even with her asthmatic attack last year she still fought her way and that everything that matters because her presence is very important to my life.

Therefore the sickness of my mum gave me a lot of perspective about life and how precious it is. This, therefore, made me think of how it could be if people stopped judging and live happier lives. Therefore lately the sickness of my mum was the only thing that frightened me the most and therefore I keep moving even though it is difficult at times to understand them a lot of pain which we human beings are always exposed to. This, therefore, means that my life even though having experienced the most emotionally devastating event in my life was good and I enjoyed it as I supported mum during her difficult period.

In conclusion, students, friends and sometimes even the closest person in my life could die any day and therefore it is always a good thing to live a normal life. This is because life is precious and it is always important to take care of those we love as I did with my mother.

My Life Before the Pandemic

I remember that a week before the pandemic started, I had come out of an interview; they had accepted me to do my Internship at the New York-Presbyterian; I was very excited because I was about to graduate in my Major which is Human Services. My life had been super interesting because I studied and worked at the Bronx Community College, and above all, I was very active. I was in the gym and I had an almost perfect social life. Wonderful people surrounded me; I had so many plans for my graduation. I was planning for trips I wanted to go and they included trips to Mexico and the Dominican Republic to celebrate my graduation. I had many dreams, goals and trips that never happened.

I am crying writing this. I remember when the pandemic entered, it was as if I was in a horror movie; the news every day was negative. They presented thousands of people who lost families; I was fortunate that in my family, no one died. I had a lot of panic about going out to the streets. I remember that my family and I had to line up at the supermarket to buy items. We did not accept visitors; I began to go into a severe depression and I did not want to go through it because it was unfortunate and desperate; I loved the life I had before the pandemic.

Social isolation during the pandemic (COVID 19) has affected many people. Social isolation has negatively impacted many people in the last 18 months. This virus has caused many problems such as anxiety, family separation, unemployment, and depression. Many remember watching the news on how to overcome these problems. It was a Sunday, May 17th; I heard Governor Andrew M. Cuomo on the news talk about how “The crisis (COVID-19) can be a mental health crisis.”

During the pandemic (COVID 19), I remember that anxiety has manifested itself in different ways, both physically and emotionally. One of them is the concern about protecting yourself from the virus and the risks. Some people reacted in a paranoid way with great panic, intense and excessive worries and fears as well as being constantly aware or frequently worried about the situation of facing death in the blink of an eye. Anxiety in other people can become intense and was portrayed as a panic attack. For example, I felt so mentally weak that I couldn’t control my worries in my case. Also, I couldn’t even fall asleep. As a result, it made me feel so stressed that the news made me worse; that is, very worried and sad.

I went through a severe depression. I called my doctor. She told me that one of the best solutions to deal with anxiety in this challenging time with the virus is to avoid watching the news. This habit of watching the world to find out how a country or the world is going through regarding this virus was not an excellent remedy to cure anxiety as many people did it. On the other hand, others say that the best way to control your stress is by praying all day and getting more sleep, or going to the park to exercise following the rules of social distancing. The media is the first to spread anxiety throughout the country. US citizens were at home just watching TV. This large amount of time on television was being taken advantage of by disseminating statistics of how many people die from Covid19 every day.

The news is a source of anxiety and a problem for many people. This is because a lot of people try to navigate into bringing their lives together, and the news talks about how the world is worried about where covid 19 will take the world to (Gao et al, 2020). It is a problematic situation since many people during the covid 19 got depressed. Television and other media have been a great source of anxiety, and many other issues related to them have affected people during the coronavirus period. Just like I got stressed and depressed, many other people experienced the same, and it has been a great source of problems.

The media should have done the best thing to instill hope into the people. Even though they are supposed to report the truth, they cannot tell how many people are dying every minute instead of helping people deal with the issues which are affecting them during this period of coronavirus; therefore, it is an important thing that the media should have come to help people dealing with stress and an abrupt change in the way of life. This is an important part of everyday life and the media should be more inclined towards helping the people instead of just reporting the news without focusing on the effects the news will have on its audience.

Chronology of white supremacy

White supremacy in the United States was legal before the civil war; however, the civil war acted to end the civil war as it brushed off most people’s minds. Yet, it was not finished in the whites’ minds in the southern end of America, and therefore it was a difficult time for the black people as some of the whites formed a group called the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). This was a group that was initially created in 1865, and it was made as a group of white supremacists who were against the blacks and what the blacks were about. It came about especially with the rise of blacks into freedom and power (Chalmers, 1987). Therefore herein, I will discuss how the southern people encouraged white supremacy and how it was hard for them to live without it even after being legally abolished after the civil war. The discussion will be a chronological one from the time this white supremacy began to the current events and how this has affected American society in an efficient negative manner.

During the period of the civil war, white supremacy did not exist. However, afterward, there came the KKK club, which was involved in lynchings for the black people and affected them greatly. The main reason for these lynchings was that the whites did not like how the republican government-supported and made the rights of the black people a priority in what was being done. Therefore the white supremacists, most of who were part of the KKK club, still believed black people did not matter, and thus, they could be trodden upon and made to remain backward in the society. In the book “What This Cruel War Was Over,” we see the civil war period and what it meant for the American culture. Therefore, upon this, white supremacy came from as the blacks got to be realized as human beings and given their rights after this war. However, those who still believed in white power did not want to give in to this (Manning, 2007).

After the civil war came the period between the 1870s and 1930s, this is when the KKK club had many members, and it was also the period when it was tough for black people to voice their issues. Therefore it is a period associated with many conflicts and issues to deal with them. One of the significant problems in white supremacy is the frequent dying and rising of the KKK club, whereby it has always come to the people in deferent forms and different leadership and other ways and manners of operation. Therefore they continued to fight the black population and its dominance and be given freedom till the 1930s when the great depression happened. Its membership went down in a very significant manner.

It was also during the period of 1870s to 1930s, there began the segregation of the black people geographically and through other means such as education whereby white kids could not attend the same school as black kids. However, violence was the most prevalent during this time, especially the lynchings.

In the 20th century, however, it was a time for change as more black people got to fight for their rights, and there were many structural changes in the way they were treated. Therefore, this was when people realized that they were complete human beings who deserved respect and dignity. This they demanded through different ways, even though demonstrations and talks as well as writings. The current society also includes people like Dylan roof, among others like Ida B. Wells. These two contrast to one another as Dylan is a serial killer who is a white supremacist, and Ida fights for black people’s rights.

Therefore, in conclusion, we can say that it was a time for a change from the time of the civil war to the time of the great depression and then up to today, whereby there have been changes. Even though the black population’s poor treatment has not been eliminated from American society, it is not as much as before.References
